There are so many different companies making computers to consider, and it is making my choice of computer really confusing which one to pick.  Just trying to decide exactly what should come with it is a separate issue.  I like to keep computers for at least 4 years before thinking of replacing them.  It just seems that technology moves so fast that even when you get one with more features and more gigabytes of RAM, you do not have what you need for future requirements.  In addition to features and RAM,  the next question I am facing is whether I should get a desktop computer or notebook computer.   Practically everyone I know loves their notebook.  What is really nice about notebooks is that you can move them where you want so easily, or take them with you on vacations or trips.  A notebook certainly does not hog up a lot of space, but a place to use a desktop is not my problem.  HP, or Hewlett Packard computers have always been in my home, and we have been pretty well satisfied with them.   HP will likely be my final choice again if I can only make a final decision on something custom made and just order it.
